How-to-Memorize & Know Vocabulary!

       There are many techniques used to memorize information. With the +200 words you should know in AP Lang, including rhetorical devices and modes, you must find the memorization technique that works best for you!

Using flashcards is one technique for memorization!

       From class Socratic seminars, to the AP exam in May, knowing your vocabulary will benefit you in many ways.  These vocabulary words are used everyday in AP Lang class, and applied throughout the year to class exercises, quizzes, and rhetorical analysis essays. In these situations you are not only supposed to know the definitions of the words, but also know how to apply them into your essays and identify the words in context.

       If you do not know your vocabulary, you fall into a downward spiral of trouble, and trying to catch up is a daunting task. Review your vocab early and often so you stay on top of things in AP Lang.

This is what my flashcards look like! If you write the vocabulary term on one side, and the definition and an example of how the word is used in a sentence on the other side, you will have made an easy way to learn and apply your vocabulary!
